Medical Communications is a process whereby clinical research and scientific information is disseminated to medical professionals, researchers, the FDA and the general public.

As this is a highly dynamic and fluid aspect of the pharmaceutical industry, it is not surprising that several organizations offer courses both for the experienced professional as well as those interested in segueing their talents in this direction. Below are some links to organizations and educational institutions that offer certifications and/or degrees related to medical/scientific writing:

The American Medical Writer's Association offers certification in several areas of medical writing.

Drexel University has a Masters degree program in Technical and Science Communication that is fully offered in the evenings.

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia offers a biomedical writing program.

University of Delaware has a post-BA certification program in Business and Technical Writing.

Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY offers certification, a BS or a MS from their Technical and Professional Communication Program.

New Jersey Institute of Technology offers BA, BS and MS credentials from their Professional and Technical Communication Program.

Clinical Research Associate Education and Training Program (www.cra-training.com) - this site offers a training course for those interested in entering Pharmaceutical Research as a Clinical Research Associate.
